BJP’s Story in Mira Bhayandar
Mira Bhayandar, a rapidly developing urban center in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, has witnessed significant transformation over the years. Alongside this growth, the Bharatiya Janata Party has steadily emerged as a strong political force, committed to development, governance and public service.
Early Years: Foundation of BJP
In the early 2000s, BJP’s presence in Mira Bhayandar was limited.During this phase, the party organization was led by Shri. Rohidas Patil, popularly known as Kaka, who played an important role in sustaining and nurturing the party at the grassroots level.
Turning Point: Emergence of New Leadership
A significant turning point came in 2007, when Shri. Narendra Mehta contested the municipal elections as an independent candidate and was elected as the Mayor of Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation.
In 2009, he joined the BJP, marking the beginning of a new era of growth and consolidation for the party in the city.
Rapid Organizational Growth
Following his entry, BJP witnessed rapid expansion in its sangathan.
The party strengthened its presence across all wards, with increasing participation of youth, women and dedicated karyakartas. This period laid the foundation for BJP’s strong grassroots network in Mira Bhayandar.
Growing Representation
Over the years, BJP steadily increased its number of elected representatives (nagarsevaks) in the Municipal Corporation, reflecting rising public trust and consistent organizational efforts.
Historic Victory
In 2026, BJP achieved a landmark victory by securing 78 out of 95 seats in the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation. This decisive mandate established BJP as the dominant political force in the city.
